The needle moves when turning the cable by hand but not when attached to the transmission. I used a bore camera through the hole for the driven gear and now know why it doesn't work, no drive gear. I can't tell if the long spacer is there either. I have an old transmission I tore down to inspect for rebuild. It has the drive gear but no rear spacer (#17) . I have searched but have not found any of these available. I am using a Garmin right now to stay honest but would like to have the original speedometer working. Well I have the transmission removed because #9 in this diagram has busted and I have no second or third gear. Since I have the trans torn down I thought I would make the speedometer functional. What would be the best material to make this part from? Thanks. I used a piece of 1 inch I.D. aluminum schedule 40 pipe cut just a touch over 3 1/2 inches long (3-17/32 or so).
