I am Dallas Ga.Working on a 53 3600 for a number of years now.Never came across anyone near me that owns a stovebolt.I am sure they are around.Would like to meet and exchange ideas and courage.
Mine runs, currently working on sheetmetal.
I can only tell my wife so much about it and she gets that far off look in her eyes.

jaco, the trick to "finding" folks that may be close to you is to read through the garage forums regularly. You can see their location in the upper right corner of their post......
However, some may only list Georgia in their profile. This means you need to send them a PM...or look in their profile to see if they listed an email address. That's what I do when I see someone post from S.C...or N.C. By doing this I've found out there are quite a few bolters within 30 minute driving time and in many cases even less and even three or four practically next door to me.
Be watchful my friend and visit often.
Good luck.

I got lucky and found a truck that originally came from CA. It was purchased by its previous owner in 1960 in CA and he brought it to GA and it haven't seen the light of day since it made its trip in 1960 it has sat in his basement garage climate controlled ever since. It still has all original paint from 1937. The front end has been removed and the engine partially disassembled so I'm going to try to get it running then just put it back together as is. I don't think it should be restored at its present condition. It is a true survivor.

That sounds like something I would like to see.Great history.
Mine sat under a tree in Blue Ridge for 22 years.Sparkplugs out when I got there.
He said it ran when parked and I believed him.About a month later I had it running.
I hope to see you at the shows. How is the 51 coming?

The 51 is just a frame and an engine it is being built to de sold as a retired factory original frame for someone to set their cab and bed on to have a completed truck faster I also have a 49 frame that I am doing the same with. Will have to find a good 49 engine for it at some point though. I hate seeing any piece of any of these old trucks to go to the scrap pile so every chance I get to save any part I do it.

It is tagged and insured with a very tired 350 I bought out of a school bus in 2015 after I blew up the 327 in it. I had the 327 put in it when I was a teenager. I am building a 250 to put in it, since it was original a 6 cylinder truck. Unfortunatly I spend more time working on dirt bikes and mustangs, dang teenage boys. The show in Hiram trucks only?

I'm over in Canton, but don't post up much.

A couple other shows. The 3rd Saturday of the month in Canton is a cruise in (Publix at Exit 20 on 575, on riverstone pkwy). I havent checked but it should be starting back up soon. Another one, a bit further out, is Caffine and Octane @ Perimeter Mall the first Sunday of every month. Pretty good mix of cars old to new and you never know what will show up (last month had a 1928 Bugatti Le Mans race car).

I'd like to come but tied up right now helping care for my father in law and we're on the road quite a bit. However, I still should be able to come for a day. Besides, I badly need a road trip.
This may need to be posted in the Events Forum and even in the Greasy Spoon. I know we should have enough for a super gathering.
I may need a reminder...I'll give it my best shot. Probably drive the Panel this trip.

EDIT: the Third Saturday this month is the 15th. I think I can make it. I should be home that weekend.

Advertise, advertise, advertise. If be can get the word out we should have a "full house".

I'll see what I can put together in the next couple of day's alvin. I'm up in the air if i can make it, I think I might have a conflict that afternoon...but since this is only a couple miles from my house I'll have to see what I can figure out.

Side note, sorry for the hijack. But hey, it's still in the spirit in getting us SE folk together right?

Mike, I had a nice list of Southern Bolters but a switch a while back from Bellsouth to Charter I ended up somehow loosing the "group" list and need to redo it....one name at a time!!

I'm surely going to try for it....depending on family needs with father in law. Even if its down to the last few days we'll be able to decide ahead of time.

Anyone else reading this thread planning to make it??????

I'm still up in the air myself, a few moving pieces tomorrow that I don't think are going to work out. Good thing is, this is going on every month until Fall.

Whenever we do meet up, could throw in a trip to Williamson Bros BBQ either before or after. Still, no Pepsi for Achipmunk. This is a Coke town. smile

dh53...never received a pm??
My plan simply cannot work out with all that is going on in our family right now. Sick and sicker is the best description with me being the only one kicking...at least for now.
