I HAVE WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A UTILITY SHELF FOR A 1/2 TON 55-59 CHEVY PICK UP. IT CAME TO ME WITH A BATCH OF PARTS I BOUGHT YEARS AGO.
DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS OR HAVE ANY PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE?
THANKS,
SWW14

Easy on Steve. He has to learn like the rest of us smile

Welcome to the Stovebolt, Steve. I can't help you but someone else will come along. There were a couple mfg's that made the Utility things so hang tight.

Thanks for the info. It is much appreciated.
Does anyone have a clue what the value of this utility shelf would be?

I would think somewhere between $150 and $200. From the photos in the manual it would be pretty easy for a reasonably skilled sheet metal worker to build one.

hard to believe the instructions call to drill through the outer cab sheet metal to mount this thing. I guess back in the day, they were just trucks...

There is one installed on my 1959. Nice place to store stuff out of the way. Downside is the seat would go back a little further without it. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll send you an e-mail with photos...the e-mail on your profile isn't working.

Even tho somebody can make one of these shelves, you can't replace original. They are few and far between, so hang on to it for that guy who's restoring one and wants to keep it original.

My eyes don't see as good as they once did so I don't mind caps. They keep me from squinting....:)

Steve..did you ever get an answer on the value? There's fellow bolter on here that got hold of a NOS one recently, maybe he'll post something. Once you get 2 more posts, you'll be able to get and send PM's.
