Hi,
I'm new to the site. Not sure this is the right place to post this but I am looking for a 49 Chevy 3100 or 3600. The ideal canidate would be a 5 window with solid or repairable cab and front sheet metal. I am embarking on a daily driver build with this as my base and putting it on a S-10 frame. So the engine, tranny and frame are not required (or I would part them out when I'm done with the switch). In the end I want a unique, reliable truck for daily use. As I live in WI, and we do get a bit of snow up here I would use S-10 with 4-wheel drive. Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

welcome tswillow, good of you to stop in the welcome centre. The best place to look for a used truck is in the swap meet, just scroll down the list of forums. We can help with the build too, we have a forum for modified trucks, check it out. Lots of info here and our motto is "knowledge is the best resource". Be sure to ask questions if you need to. Good luck.

tswillow, welcome to the Stovebolt. There is some good bolters around your area so watch for them...heck, bolters are getting like Santa Claus....they're everywhere! Which is a good thing.

Leo gives some good advice. Take some time and learn your way around the bolt/tech tips, gallery pictures and even the FAQ's and check out the links. We have guys that have done just what your talking about so be diligent in hanging around and checking often as not everyone can post every single day. Hope all goes well.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
