Hooked up charger to leads and it spun really well.
I let it run to make sure it seemed ok,then filled it with water to check for leaks(none,wow)
Afterwards I realized the charger was on 12V ,os I tested again on 6V .
It ran,not as fast
The motor did not get hot or smell when on 12V.

There are couple of other post with replacement motors suppliers in 6 and 12 volts.
I decided to run my 6 volt on 12 volts using a ballast resistor to reduce the voltage.
