Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 341 | I'm looking for how your fog lights are mounted specifically on AD trucks. I know there are a variety of mounts used so I wanted to get some ideas. Thanks.

Most likely ND GMCs mount like the A-D Chevrolet trucks, except maybe in 54/55st?

The brackets came with them. I bought some chrome bolts, along with some washers (visible in the first pic) and nuts. I drilled an appropriate sized hole in the front splash pan. I used a small circle of gasket paper to prevent metal to metal rubbing between the bracket and the splash pan, and put the washer, lock washer, and nut below. They are really stable. I ended up having to paint the brackets and the cast bases of the lights because they weren't holding up to being in the weather. I used a lighted Unity under-dash switch I found on eBay, with a parts store horn relay for power. Bulbs are amber 12v GE bulbs I found on Amazon. | | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,907 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,907 | (The pics were also in a recent post in General.) I'm not sure if mine is original equipment (I doubt it). The bracket grabs the bumper support and was there when I bought my '48. I got the light case (with burned out 6-volt light) at a swap meet. It connects to the bracket via a ball and socket joint. When I went to 12 volts, I found a NAPA #4412A fits perfectly. . Fog Light Bracket. Fog Light On . Fog Light Pattern . Turns out my copy of "Chevrolet Accessories for 1948" shows no fog light fixture or replacement bulbs. Maybe they were all aftermarket with various designs. 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.

Eric and Wally, thanks for those...they really help. I just picked up a pair of Unity H1 fogs but still need to get some brackets.
