ok. our family car, a '96 Dodge grand caravan, has splotches in the paint. mainly on the hood, and the roof, i'm thinking due to being exposed to direct sunlight. or something.
anyway, its an eye sore. and it appears to be the clear coat on it.
it looks kinda of blotted, with matte white spots on the paint. about the size of a canteloupe, in several areas.
any ideas how to remedy this?
it's starting to bug my parents.

1969 K20 , with a '67 front clip. fleetside. 292, 3x1 offy, headers. sm465 4spd. getting put back together, almost ready for paint. doing it all myself. 19 and lovin' it. "proper" is so over-rated. .later days. .sam.

If so, dont bother trying anything.. I tried EVERYTHING! Even using vinegar with a razor blade.. take it to a dealership and ask them if you have acid rain. If so, pay to have it ran through their acid boothe.. hope this helps

A lot of clear coats failed, especially Dodge, GM, and Ford. For some reason most foreign cars did fine. The BC/CC on my '89 BMW still looks good and it has never been garaged.
