Hello All, I did some searching prior to drafting this and the most recent thread I could find was from 2004. so here we are again in 2017. I acquired new wiper arms and installed them and they were hitting the rubber at the top of the window. I found the thread from 2004 and tried switching them around. stil hitting the top. The originals have the passanger side shorter than the drivers side. The set I ordered has them both the same length. does anyone know a good source for wiper arms? Are they truely two different lengths? Thanks, cheers.

I have a 54 3100 and the wiper arms are the same length. That is not to say the originals where not different. There is no information in the service manual in regards to the length of the arms. Here is a link to the 54 chevy service manual and the page for changing and adjusting the wipers.

Wiper blade lengths and arm lengths are the same for both sides on my 1954/55st Chevrolet and GMC trucks.

dgrinnan, Would it be possible for me to get a measurement of the ones you have on yours, for comparison sake.

The part holding the blade is 12 inches and overall is 16 inches. I got them in Stock at Napa. Classic series. All metal. No shipping cost. If they are out of stock they will order for pick up in store.

I just tried to search the cost and part number at Napa Online and they don't list them anymore. They are TRICO Classic. They list them at O'Reiley Auto Parts. Also at https://wipers123.com LMCTruck and wipers123 say they should be 11 inches.

This is excellent feedback. I believe my blade holders are original. The arms are the only thing I replaced. I will bounce these figures off of what I have and let you know what is what. Cheers.

So...for those interested, I acquired new wiper arms from classic parts USA. They were both the same length and rhetoric ones I replaced were two different sizes 12" and 8". Both of the new ones are 12". My Napa guy showed me classic blades that fit on to the original arms. The old blade was just hitting the rubber a tiny bit. Well come to find out the replacement blades come in 10, 10.2, 10.5, and 10.75 inch lengths and then strait to 12". I had 10.25 on the original old short arm. I bought two 10" replacements for $12.95 each and they work fine. 1/4 inch difference messed me up. I hope this helps someone.
