Nice Lou...did you have to blast or do anything to the frame/springs before you had it covered?

Very NICE. Could you show a couple photos of the seat bottom, bottom and the back of the seat back?

I installed the same covers on my 51 seat and am only about 95% happy with my craftsmanship. Curious about how a professional did it.

Yes my seat was in very poor shape. Bought it used; looked like it came off the titanic
I had to form and weld 1/8" rod around the perimeter of the seat cushion to beef it up

Then sand blasted; the upholster had to tie wire some of the main springs together to replace the missing springs that hold everything together
Pictures of the back will be posted as soon as I can

Thanks Lou, I believe we have the same Jim Carter cover, this is what I received;

UP148FS SEAT KIT 50-55 SPANISH GRAIN B 1.00 1.00 0.00
ROWN FRENCH STITCHING
EACH French stitch, will also
fit 1950-53. Original on 1954-

I see your cover has a white boarder/skirt to facilitate fastening it to the seat frame. Mind did not have this and I sure wish it did. My guess is your upholstery shop added this.

Looks good, and congratulations on how well your truck is coming along.

Ron

Jim Carter might still have his 47-55 seat upholstery colors incorrectly listed.

The solid brown was used 47-52.
I think that solid maroon was used in 1953.
Maroon sides and gray top seat-top/back panels were used in 54/55st.

JC also sells the same size covers for all A-D years, but, it seems the dimensions changed sometime during 47-55. JC's sizing was small on my 1954 spring-sets..

JC kindly let me contact his upholstery shop - she then made correct-size two-tone covers for me.

My guess is the same as Ron's regarding the white border most likely having been put on by Lou's upholstery installer. That border would not be needed if the original barrel clips were used, instead of more common hog rings (hog rings are easier to install AND MUCH easier to remove).

All
I confirmed my upholsterer did in fact ADD the white border for ease of install
He also recommended letting Jim Carter know so they can make it easier for everyone

Jim Carter most likely would not want to carry both styles of covers:

- if someone is doing an original-parts install (with barrel clips), the white border is not needed and would have to cut off

- if someone is using non-original hog rings, the white border would be helpful/needed
