Then they start the balancing procedure. The items clamped onto the crankshaft are called "bobweights" which simulate the weight of the pistons and connecting rods so weight can be added to or removed from the crank counterweights, like balancing a wheel/tire assembly. A dollar bill weighs one gram. Jerry

If all the moving parts are matched, why wouldn't you just balance the crank without anything on it?
I love that home made intake. Not painting it shows the temp rings from welding. Do you think they just put regular old clear coat to get that shiny finish?
