Hello all
First time experience removing the tranny for a clutch job
Does everyone have issues sliding down the torque tube bell?
Any advice is appreciated

Lou,

Did you first unscrew the end-cap and slide it back?

Also, the outer surface of the torque-tube should be shiney-slick (no paint and no rust) for as far back as you have to slide the bell/cover.

Tim, as for the bell cover with 4 bolts yes; I am assuming the end collar on the opposite of the end that slides down is all one piece? The torque tube does have dirt and gunk that I didn't clean off

Lou,

on the right end of the ball/bell/housing is a collar that is screwed onto the threaded right-end of the bell/ball/housing.

Inside that collar is a seal and two metal rings. That collar can be unscrewed and pushed rearward - this make it easier to move the ball rearward. The outer surface of the torque-tube needs to be clean, shiney, and smooth.
