Hey I thought it was time I reconnect with the local chapter. I don't post much on here but I have been checking in from time to time. I wanted to share some photos of the work I've been doing on my '34 Chevy. I've posted only a small number of photos on photo bucket here: http://s915.photobucket.com/user/Redwelter/library/?sort=3&page=1. Of course these only show some of the highlights but you'll get the idea.

I really hope to have it on the road by the spring and would love to connect with you all as the summer show season starts up.

Great job. Thanks for sharing.
I love the blue. Is the color Lt. Regetta Metalic Blue? It sure looks like my 37..when it was freshly painted!

....I believe I saw a picture of Boyds (B52) purple pickup at the show? If you see him tell him the Chipmunk said hello.

Thanks for checking in Chipmunk, the paint is GM bahama blue. And the picture of Boyd's truck is from a few years ago But I will tell him when I see him.

Thanks on the colour. I'm looking forward to your pik a nik. Hopefully I'll be able to come in the truck.

Did you do the paint work? Looks really good.

Thanks. I did the paint in the garage with help from a friend who had painted his 57. There's several spots that don't look as good close up, the pictures lie a little. There's definitely areas that look as good as any modern factory paint job but since we didn't know what we did differently on those spots we couldn't make the whole truck that good. A few pieces had to be repainted 3-4 times and you can definitely find spots where I rushed the prep work.

I guess I'm always going to be the worst critic though and overall I'm pretty happy with it.

You will probably see the spots you don't like a lot quicker than anyone else and be a tougher judge. My painting skills are pretty bad. I do a lot of re-dos and sanding. I wish they had a class somewhere I could learn how to really do it. I go online and it's a tangled web of information out there. I used PPG primer in years past and it went on pretty well, then they came out with what I call California style paint, that isn't suppose to screw up the environment, but I had the biggest headache trying not to get orange peeling. I threw some on some tractor parts just so they wouldn't rust until next time I get a chance to paint.

Here’s a short YouTube video. First time out in 7 years.

The camera didn't show but we can still see the big smile. Nice ride. Good job.
