Has anybody ordered a full set of glass for their AD trucks, from Jim Carter. My 53 3100 is going to be coming back from the paint shop, next week. I need an entire set of glass. Except for the corner glass. I don't have the five window truck. Did the glass work well? Did it fit well? Any input or advice is welcome. Thank you in advance for taking time to address my question.

Depending on area businesses you can save some money, depending on what folks charge where you live, if you have all your glass cut locally....

The glass is all flat glass and if you have a pattern you can have the local guys cut it and save a ton on shipping unless your getting free shipping for purchasing over a 100 dollars.

When I did my panel a couple years ago I found the local glass to be a SMIDGEN wider than my original piece. Not enough to make a difference but it was bigger checking it with a set of dials.

Some vendors offer Stovebolters a 10% discount and currently some are offering a Thanksgiving discount. Be sure to check around. Its your money they are after!

EDIT: Classic Parts is offering 10% off on over a $100 till the 27th.....and I think I seen where JimCarter is also.....of coarse you can get a Stovebolt discount there. Just simply put.....do the math!

I bought mine from Summit Racing, OEM brand. Best price around, fit great.

I had the glass for the 48 2 ton cut at the local auto glass shop.
Both side windows were broken out so I cleaned and painted the window frames first. Then I cut the front and rear glass out of the rubber and took the lot to the shop. They cut the new glass, delivered it to the shop and installed the glass in the new rubber for a very reasonable price. Even with the install it cost less than buying on line and shipping.

It is going to vary by location....but......my local glass shops were twice as expensive just for the glass than the mail order places mentioned prior. Did not even ask about install pricing........

Obviously it pays to shop around........

Just installed all new green tint glass in my 53 5 window. Bought the glass from classic parts. Class was made in Thailand and fit beautiful.

I just picked up locally my replacement glass that I had cut using the old ones as templates. At Crystal Glass it cost $440 CDN ($330 US) for ALL the glass 2 front, 2 side, 2 vent, 1 rear. LMC comes out at about $250 I think for what I had done, excluding shipping, chances of things getting smashed, and the very likely chance it's not the right size.
I can't speak for glass, but many pieces I've ordered from LMC are required to be "tweaked" to fit slightly. You can't tweak glass. Maybe someone who has ordered glass from LMC may speak out. Sounds like CP fits well.

For most of my glass, I drive down to The Truck Stop in Anaheim, CA. It all fits great! For the rear cargo doors, I got the glass from Classic Parts. It fit well also. My side glass (Suburban) had to be made locally. Doesn't fit as well but it gets the job done. Cost more than buying from the usual suppliers, not that they supply it.

I ended up ordering all of my glass for my 53 3100, 3 window, from Classic Industries. The 2 pieces of windshield glass were placed on back order. First, I was told it was going to be 2 weeks, 3 weeks max. Well the 2 weeks came and went. I called them to inquire about my back order. They finally called their vendor. The vendor told them it was probably going to be more like 60 to 90 days. So, I ended up purchasing the windshield glass from Classic Parts of America. Used to be know as Chevy Duty. Had a professional install my windshield and back glass. I ended up intalling both my door roll up and vent windows myself. Everything fit perfectly. Very happy with all of it.
