I still have the old 8 lug split rims with new 235/75 15 tires. Do I have a 16" or 15" split rim, I just bought these tires and want to go with the Dexstar rims that fit my truck. | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,061 Big Bolt Forum Moderator | Big Bolt Forum Moderator Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,061 | Your post is a bit unclear to me. If you have 235/75-15 tires that you want to use, you need 15" wheels. If they are are on your split rims now, then your split rims are 15". | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 49 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 49 | I'm on these split rims now and my tire size is 235/75 15, I thought all the split rims for these trucks were 16" | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 Sir Searchalot | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,988 | There are "trailer rims" that are split and 15", 6 lug on 5 1/2. I have some. They have the hub cap clips. I have never seen a 15" split 8 lug, yet. By split, you mean two piece with a ring, and by 8 lug you mean 8 lugs? A 15" tire only fits a 15" rim. | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,059 Renaissance Man | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,059 | I have seen a very original '56 3600 truck with 15" 8 lug rims.

Maybe the one's I have are worth something. | | | | Joined: Sep 2016 Posts: 20 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Sep 2016 Posts: 20 | On the 55 1st series 3/4 ton the standard equipment was 15inch 6ply rated at 1500 pounds each capacity. Optional was a 7.50-17inch 2100 pound rated for single rear axle. 6.50-16inch was listed as an option for front and duel rear 3603 only. I don't know if that was the same for the earlier, but I have always seen the 15inch listed as the standard sized wheel on Advance design 3600s. | | | | Joined: Sep 2016 Posts: 17 New Guy | New Guy Joined: Sep 2016 Posts: 17 | I have the solid single lock ring on my 15 inch - 8 lug rims on my 51 3/4 ton GMC | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,066 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,066 | I owned an original 66 C-20 that came with 15" split rims. I believe that 16" split rims were available for that series also. Fred
