I disconnect universal to differential yoke from rear driveshaft. At this point should drive shaft slip out? It seems to slide some 3 or 4" but then stop, not sure if it should just slide off of connection point at center member or additional removal of driveshaft components are needed. Service manual is really weak on rear driveshaft removal.

Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | If you will have it modified the driveshaft shop will need the shaft section complete with a yoke on each end. That way if/when they cut one end off and weld it or another back on they can align that yoke correctly with the yoke on the other end. So you could pull apart the slip yoke to remove the back end of the shaft, but you also need to remove the slip yoke from the vehicle.
