The pan is in rough shape. Does anyone know where I can get a good used one, or a new one? I tried all of the parts outlets ( Jim Carter, etc.) but no luck. I don't know if the engine is from a car or truck, but it only takes 4 quarts of oil. There is no filter. I'm told that some of the car engines have a 4 quart capacity. The dip stick seems to be correct, however I would like some clarification. Also, does anyone have any leads on a oil pan??? Thank you. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,875 Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) | | Kettle Custodian (pot stirrer) Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 29,875 | There's one on Ebay right now but it's kind of rough looking and expensive. If yours isn't rusty or really badly dented, it will probably be better to try to work on the one you have. A lot of metal bumping, sanding and painting can be done before you start approaching the price of some of the parts buzzards. There's a big wrecking yard in Albert Lea Minnesota that scraps out a BUNCH of stovebolt stuff on Ebay- - - -they've probably got one. Jerry

That one is for a early 54, 55. It has too many partitions. My 59 is wide open. Mine is badly cracked around the drain plug. Someone tried to braze it already. Do you have the name of that junk yard in Minnesota or a phone number? Thanks again. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 54 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 54 | Try Alder's Antique Auto parts in NY | | | | | Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 154 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 154 | Salvage yard in Albert lea, minnesota is RPM MOTORSPORTS I think. phone number is 1-888-223-1864. I called them for one a while back and they were asking $125.00 for the pan. Mine is damaged around the drain plug. Someone tried to braze it but it cracked again when I tried to straighten out the dents. My pan only has one flat baffle over the drain plug. The rest of the pan is open. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 37 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2016 Posts: 37 | Thanks for the information. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 334 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2005 Posts: 334 | You may get better results posting this in the Parts Wanted. Even using my old HF blue POS. So rethink having yours redone by a true welder as they're not as lax by nature as 'someone'.
I had to CLEAN it throughout before he'd even begin and then he cleaned some more...
