I'd look for two more 22.5 wheels and run modern tubeless radial 9R22.5 tires all around. Do not do anything with these wheels until you totally deflate the tire, removal of the valve core is the safest way to make sure there is no pressure left in the tire while working to take these wheels apart, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,236 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,236 | I agee with 3B, your front tires are 8.25x20 which means they are tube type and are mounted on some sort of a split/multi piece rim. The 22.5 are all tubeless one piece rims and are the direct replacement for the 20" rims. You want to replace your front wheels and tires asap with 9.00x22.5 tires which is the same size as your 8.25x20. I am going to put the front end on Jack stands & deflate the front tires just to be safe. I'm planning on ordering a set of the accuride 28157 along with new tires. jeremy 1947 Chevy 1st series 1/2 ton

I heard back from wheelsnow and they do have the accuride 28157 in Stock for $225 a wheel. Yes its expensive but it solves my problem. Tried locating a used set but no luck.

Then another $75-120 for blasting and powder coating. On top of purchase price which might be $50 plus or minus. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 206 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 206 | I bought six nice modern one piece rims today from a guy in Houston tx who runs salvage parts business. The only new ones I found to replace my widow maker 20 by 8.5 center split rims RH5s ( extremely dangerous ,,,please don't even put air in or out of those ). We're 240.00 from a company called wheel snowing.com The guy I bought from runs his dad's old 60 yr old salvage parts business. He says he may have a source for more of them. They came off fed ex van truck . If you want his contact info he said I could share it. Mike B | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 . | | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,878 | Also consider the width of the new wheels relative to the tires you want to run. 6" wide works well with 9R22.5 tire 7.5" wide could still work fine or might not fit as well on the vehicle. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 20 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 20 | The new wheels would be 22.5 x 6.75 the salesman said a 9x22.5 tire would be a good fit. As far as the rear, it already has solid wheels with old 9r22.5. I would like to go with a little taller tire in back to compensate for the gears. How does that sound? Thanks for everyone's advice jeremy 1947 Chevy 1st series 1/2 ton
