| | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 477 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2001 Posts: 477 | only 1 place in America can I find front wheel cylinders for my 55 1st series coe. it's a 5100 series 2 ton with cylinder # 5454 385 and a 7/8 bore. the lovely and talented spanky hary hooked me up with a guy in Massachusetts who had he cylinders, but wanted to sell me everything for the front axle. the truck has been converted to roller bearings and the seals look great. believe it or not, napa had the new shoes. I just need the cylinders. jim carter, my go to guy, doesn't have the cylinders and can't get them but has 1 inch cylinders. i'm not one to mess with brakes, so, i'm leery. Can you rebuild them? Napa had the kits for the front cylinders on my 58 6400 2-ton. They have a 7/8 bore. (UP129). If the 1" bore cylinders fit the mounting holes and space, they are OK to use.

A friend of mine just purchased front wheel cylinders for his '53 model Chevy 5400 series COE from them, back before Christmas with no problems. I've been sending them business for years. If something has changed with them, i'll stop mentioning them to anyone. Oh yeah, I might be talented when it comes to old trucks, but not lovely.
