Last year I replaced the door weather stripping on the passenger door. Immediately I noticed that when closing the door the weather stripping on the front edge of the door against the A pillar get pinched and stuck between the door and the A pillar, resulting in being able to see the weather stripping between the door and the A pillar.

This week I did the same on the driver's door with the same pinching problem. What is causing this?

My first question would be to you have the weather stripping on correctly?

weather stripping orientation

Here's a pic of how I have it at the top of the door. It would just wrap around the corner. Based upon the amount of rubber I have sticking up that is not glued down on the outside as well as it's angle, I should re-check my door gap at the pillar. If I bring it back just a tad maybe the rubber will have more room to move past the corner of the pillar.

DADS50, thanks for the link.

I have the same rubbing issue you describe

Although I believe my weather strip is installed incorrectly

I cannot see the rubber when the door is closed but do see it rubbing the pillar and a swipe mark.

I have the same issue as well, and the rubber is installed correctly. My plan is to use a small syringe to glue the rubbed portion back in place, then keep the doors shut until the glue cures.

I've removed the door so I can reglue down the area which was pulled up due to being pinched. Thinking of maybe cutting off 1/8" of the edge of the stripping in the area that consistently keeps grabbing the pillar.
