I have decided that it is time to replace all the wiring in my truck. The insulation on the original stuff is so brittle and dry that pieces keep falling off - lots of insulation free wire under the hood that I have kept well away from shorting out to ground and also added some spiral wire wrap stuff. I also have some kind of short to ground somewhere (battery drains when sitting for long periods) and problems starting without jumping out the coil to the starter (+ connection).
So.... My thoughts are to lay the harness out on the ground to get an idea of which end is what and work from the headlights/parking lights to under the hood and then under the dash.
There is a diagram included with the harness and I do have the service manual with a schematic for reference.
Is there a preferred method to do this job?
