Was concerned about the tool to smash them, then saw that these came with a rubber insert that keeps the ferule tight. I dont see it going anywhere once the handle is inserted. The metsal seemed thin, but it wont be in the rain- often anyway. Easier to install I'm saying............. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | I'm not sure about your '40 but on my 37 you have to spread the ferules at the back side. I do use a rubber O-ring to help keep it tight and not scuff the paint. EDIT: I'll correct myself. After 37 it seems you do not need the tool. Perhaps this will explain it better than me. https://www.fillingstation.com/articles/installferrules.htm

I dont see a new to try and press it- cant go anywhat with the handle on! | | |
