Have a 46 1/2 ton, that one of the previous owners moved the battery to the firewall. I want to move it back, but the original battery tray support has been cut. Would appreciate some pictures to show how it was attached, below the floorboard. Dimensions, would also help.

Thanks

Steve

Steve, I'd check out the vendors for a battery box. I know a lot of re-pops are made for vehicles. If you see one check and see if it bolts to the chassis which I suspect it does...or is riveted. Then look on your chassis for matching mounting holes. Sorry I don't have a picture.

Steve
I can email you pics of Sparky's, but it may be a day or two. I did replace the bottom plate and side (rivets) fasteners, but otherwise the dimensions will be good. The set up is the same as on my '37, that was used for comparison.
PM me your email address and I'll respond ASAP.

Thanks. Does this mount fit side to side, or fore to aft. I don't have the floorboard. My floor is plywood.

Maybe Steve (46Sparky) will post links to a few photos, or mail a few photos to you?

I see you do not have an email address in your Profile.

Maybe Steve could mail a few photos to me and I will host them and post links here?

The box mounts on the right frame rail, battery long axis is fore to aft.

The box I have was badly rusted on the bottom. All that remained usable was the top box frame, and the long bolt used to compress the box ends, fore to aft, and hold the battery in place. The box now differs from the original only with a replaced bottom/sides and bolts holding that part to the box frame instead of rivets.

I'll try to get pics with dimensions later today.
