Well finally after 7 months got my 261 started,started on the first crank,sounded like angels singing,this engine was destined for the scrap heap,PO seized a piston and rod ended up through the side of the cylinder. Resleeved that cylinder,bored it 030 over ,new pistons ,ground crank,cam and lifters,rebuilt head,new exhaust valves,line bored block,decked head and block,magnafluxed everything. Used a lot of info off this site setting it up ,timing the distributor,and running it in,ran like a dream,one small oil leak at one of the oil filter lines,easy fix. I can't wait to get it back in the truck.
