We finally pulled taters body off of its frame. Having access to a lift really eased the pains. Now the fun begins.

Thanks guys,I have all fenders, doors, hood, etc done waiting for final block sanding. All the seats, interior garnish trims, wing vents, inner fenders have been painted. All new glass cut I look at it as all down hill now.
I got side tracked last year with a 1949 ford 8n tractor.
I will keep the pictures coming as I progress.

Put taters body back on today.Ran into a problem with the new body mount blocks #cbk156 from jim carters being the wrong size.I will contact Jim Carter tomorrow and let him know about the problem.I purchased the body mount kit in March of 2014. I will cut my own blocks out of white oak and not poplar like his.

Tim, my original blocks from my 52panel. I forgot the measurements. Question: were your original blocks "nailed" to the metal?

Yes, spiral nails right into the metal and the rubber pads tacked on the wood blocks as well.

Tim I looked through your photos earlier. I have a question as to where these two metal plates get positioned on the frame to body mounting. These two plate came in the body mounting kit.

Tim,

I do not recall metal plates, but they might have been levelling shims?

Whose body mounting kit? Can you post a link to the kit?

Thanks,

Sorry, Tim

The images on JC's website do not load (unless you have them in cache from a previous view). computerdeath

My guess is his web programmer (a relative, or a high school student, most likely) might be updating his web catalog. blush

That kit is also out of stock. It is very nice that JC now lists out-of-stock (as someone reported last week). thumbs_up

The blocks in his kit could possibly have worked if drilled through the correct side. But they don't match up to the originals, so i made my own and the body is now bolted down.
