First thing on the list is to find some new rims and get rid of my widow makers. Then fix that failed brake wheel cylinder.
I'm just using it on the property and shut off the engine when I need to stop. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,062 Big Bolt Forum Moderator | | Big Bolt Forum Moderator Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 2,062 | | | | | | Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 54 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 54 | The lug nuts have laughed at everything I have tried to use to loosen them so far.. I guess the burgers are on me, My neighbors pulled the wheels today while i was at work, Seems the drivers side are left hand threads. Now I need to locate some replacement wheels, the rims are very rotten and then I need to find the socket that fits on the end of the studs for the inner wheel. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 Moderator | | Moderator Joined: Mar 2007 Posts: 4,215 | [quote=Achipmunk] Seems the drivers side are left hand threads. I know a fellow that couldn't get a wheel off on his tractor, even had the nuts red hot using a torch. He finally called a friend who said he would come and help but only if he first tried turning them the other way. Sure enough, they were left hand thread. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | "Generally" the left handed studs will have an "L" stamped in the end of them but not all.......Glad it worked out Dan. I'm looking forward to my burger ...and thanks for being such a good sport about it! In the end we all win. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 54 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 54 | Yeah, I found that. Just ordered a Budd Stud Impact and found the springs I have been looking for. Picked up a couple used rims from a local guy this am.
Truck should be ready to start hauling gravel in a week or two. | | |
