Hi, my name is Gabe from northern very northern California, I'm the proud owner of a 1947 Chevrolet Fleetline woodie, I love this car, had it for about 3 years now, its a work in progress. Very original car with hopefully its original 216 engine. Was running beautifully until the rod bearings decided to loosen on me so that's the next project. I'm also the proud recent owner of a 1946 Chevy 1/2 ton truck. Not as original but very solid, no rust, featuring what I think is a 235 engine. I don't mind it not being the original engine because this engine is sweet. Smooth, tons of torque and just idles beautifully. I hope someone will be able to help me decipher exactly what engine I have because ive checked all the sites and couldn't find one that matched. If someone could help, ide really appreciate it. So here is the engine I.D# F04TILB The casting # is : 3789717 Ill post these in the correct forum also, but I thought this would be a good place to start. Pictures coming soon of the restorations in progress. Thanks to all

Can you post a link to a photo of the Engine Serial Number?

How many bolts/screws hold the valve cover to the block?

I think that only moderators or other "Stovebolt helpers" can post/have an "avatar" (if that is what they are called).

Hmmm. I don't know about the non-moderators having an avatar (yes, that's what they are called). Let me know who they are Tim (PM).

Classicguy - don't know how Instagram photos work but too bad you can't have or make a link to all your stuff so people can cruise through and look at it all. If you are still in the "setting it up phase," maybe you can do that. Big album, and then sub-albums with the different vehicles. Lots of our folks do that and it helps find pictures they want to refer back to.

Welcome to the site!

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

Thanks Peggy, so far this is the only way I've found to post my pictures, I'm sure there's a better way, I'll have to figure it out.

Thanks Rich. I've always liked cars from the 60's but these have my heart, just love driving them. There's nothing like the feeling you get driving one of these beauties.

Hello Peggy, do you happen to know by chance what website those other members use to post multiple pictures? Thanks

....a lot of us use Photobucket as a hosting site. There are others. Maybe Peggy or some of the others will chime in with the ups and downs of each individual hosting site.

I like DropBox - IT HAS NO ADVERTISING when people view one of your photos - it is free until you use up the free storage space.

You place the images in the Public folder and the use the "publis" link to the photo.

Learn how to use a program that allows you to change/save images to a smaller size (like no wider than 1024 pixels) - I use Preview on a Mac (I forget what similar program is free for Windows).
