I finally found a good hood for my 53 gmc fire truck but as I predicted, I ended up getting a whole truck. It's a 1954 450 series. Still a cool, good running truck that has a good 248 engine and the pto winch still works. Hood was dang near perfect. I do enjoy hunting down info on the different years and I never knew they had wipers on the top of the cabs on some. I put a picture on because I noticed there are not many similar in the gallery. I'm assuming the 55 1st series were similar in these sizes

My '54 630 has overhead wipers. Your 450 looks nice.

tri5, That '54 450 should have a 302 in it, unless it's been changed, & not a 248. 1954 was the first year that the wipers were above the windshield on AD/ND trucks, but only on 400 series, and larger trucks. You'll also notice that from 400 series up, the 54 models used the round park lights, & not the square park lights as the 350 series down use.
