You are now converted to 5 lug and disc brakes, right? You should use everything from the 1973. gear box, pitman arm, crosslink, spindles. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 491 Unconventional Thinker | | Unconventional Thinker Joined: Dec 2015 Posts: 491 | I haven't done the whole assembly, but I have done the conversion using the modern spindles, but using my old control arms. I've read that using the whole assembly works too. Mine is 8 lug, and I didn't know where to source a 3/4 ton front end, so I had to buy kits. I wish I'd known then what I know now, I could have save a ton of money.

You just have to change out your tie rods and ball joints for whatever year spindles you have and I took the steering linkage from the donor otherwise you have to use some tie rod adjuster sleeves. I now have disc brakes, power steering, and parts that are 20+ newer. Even managed to score the sway bar. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 8 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 8 | | | | | | Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 82 Crusing in the Passing Lane | | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2010 Posts: 82 | I did a 91 Suburban suspension/cross member swap on my 66 Suburban and it turned out great. | | |
