Does anyone have a real good match and paint code for the original Tan color that is the background color on the original 1946 Chev/GMC dash instrument assemblies? My dash is actually in decent shape but would be very well suited to a "sprucing up" to look real nice. I think I will also paint the dash, door panels and inside cab with the same color. Is that very close to proper?

Unless you just want to paint them a vinyl decal works nice. I have them on my 37 pickup for over 15 years and also used them on my 52panel.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.

I have had the same question for a long time, this is one of those things that seems simple, but always ends up in the too hard box. I am probably just going to have a body shop custom mix a quart.
