Fellow Stovebolters Greetings!

Have any of you done The Dash on a 46 Truck?
And Gauges? Some rusted thru area on mine.
Whats the best way of redoing this area? Tig Welding? Fiberglass?

Anyone with photos or pics that I may use for reference.

What exactally are you looking for. I Have a couple dashes and guage clusters. I rebuilt of os the gauge clusters and have about 1.5 left for parts. I can photo what ever it is you need. They are very simple.

Thats my question too. I've got the gauge cluster from my '46 1/2 ton Panel that I am not going to use. It has not been re-worked or anything but the panel itself is just surface rusted, I'm pretty sure I'm at work right now but I'll look in the morning. What I did with mine, since its not stock, is I made an insert for the gauges from a piece of oak with two trim pieces of cherry on both ends to match the curve of the dash. Dash w/insert

If you are talking about the rust holes that develop up at the windshield, I would look at finding another dash. There is one on E-bay...or...I am betting someone out there could help you find one that is in good shape w/o holes. Since CF is in Finland, anyone know of a good place to look for a dash for his 46?

Guess I sure could use a Nice Ol Dash. Is tig or is it mig welding good for repairing the rusted area with new metal?
I shur want it to look as PERDY! As Davids work is.

I can't take all the credit for that dash, the PO had painted it one color and I just stripped it and repainted it the color I wanted. There was a couple of rough spots in it but not rusted thru or anything. But thanks for the compliments folks. I was thinking you were looking for the gauge insert but now I can see I was mistaken. The truck I've got was a southern truck so there was not allot of rust holes anyplace in the whole body. If you do need that gauge insert let me know and we'll see about getting it to you some how.
