I was shocked to learn Dupont's "good stuff" is just about 2X the price of the Nason line. So far, I've been pleased with the Nason stuff and was planning to use it for base/clear system on my truck. Is the Dupont line really that much better??? What's the scoop here??? By the way, I'm using a solid color, no fancy metallics, etc.

I can't see spending that much for the regular Dupont since I'm painting in my garage. If I was a pro, then I could see spending more money on the paint. The quality of paint isn't usually my problem. I just finished my cab with Nason and after color sanding it's like a mirror.

In fact I used to take care of a fleet of taxi's and Nason acrylic enamal held up better than Dupont Centari. Nason was the oldest paint company in the US when Dupont bought them out a few years ago. They were mostly a fleet finish mfg. One of the reasons it is cheaper than Dupont is there was little or no tech support from them other than counter help at the store. I think it is an excellent product although after 50 years I do not paint any more.
