For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 313 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 313 | Hello Bolters,
It's been a really long time since I've been on the site so it's good to be back! I have a 65 C10 that I am in desperate need of a headlight switch retaining nut for. I have looked all over the internet at the parts vendors and it's crazy that the retaining nuts are made for the older Chevy trucks, and 67 and up but not for 64-66.
Anyone have any ideas (besides a junk truck) as to where I might be able to find one?
Thanks!!
Kevin

Only problem is, the retainer nut actually screws into the headlight switch.

Brad Edit - nevermind, it probably doesn't come with what you need Tomorrow, I am going to call a few of the parts vendors, Classic Truck Parts, Chev's of the 40's etc and ask them if they would check to see if one for a 47-53 or up to a 59 will screw into the 64-66 headlight switch and if it will, and the 64-66 headlight knob/rod will fit into that, then I will buy a new one. If not, I will be calling Tom Myers in Miami, Oklahoma and see if he can come up with one. I don't understand why there are bezel nuts made for years all around 64-66 and not for those years. This has been a problem for years because I've seen post on other sites from back in 2009 where people were asking the same question. Kevin

Also, Tony Smith in Kansas City Missouri does resto's on your model truck and I'll bet he has one. He is a member here but can't remember his handle right now. ( I think it's 4-5-6-chevy trucks. EDIT: Here is Tony's email. Send him a note and see if he can help. Most likely he can. [email protected]
