going to attempt to install the abs plastic headliner this coming week, first to put the windlace in......then try to figure on how to install the headliner, gotta figure how to fit the plastic up to the roof to mark the screw holes to drill.....( it's going in a 1940 ton n 1/2).........Will let ya know how it works out. Any suggestions would be helpful!

I don't know how heavy it is but I am a big fan of patterns. A sheet of poster paper with 1\2 of the original patterned would just need to be flipped to represent the whole thing.

The tips from Tom "nannyman" on 21/5/14 were the most helpful. Making the pointed screw tips to scribe the center rib screw locations was a great idea and it worked well for me. I would recommend that you get a decent and patient assistant for this job.

I installed a fiberglass one in a later (1952) truck so there are probably lots of differences. However I will second the advice Paul gives above in his last sentence. I used my wife instead of a decent and patient assistant and ended up trimming too much off. It really needs to be pushed up very firmly if you think you need to trim or better yet make a pattern first as Brad suggests.

Thanks for the pointers guys, n Paul didn't see that thread before from Tom 'nannyman'....very useful tips. weather hasn't been to good lately.......might put it off til the spring. will try to take pics of the install, might help someone else.

All I did was trace and "paper" headliner onto a sheet of 1/8 inch ABS ($45.00 CAN)... then cut it out with tin snips. It went in easy. Just kinda popped in and looks great.
