I saw some similar progress pics on the ATHS site in the Biederman thread. Pretty exciting. All John's trucks are amazing restorations. Its no wonder Robert has the task of metal repair on the fenders!

Yea, my cab may be on but no sooner done than the day it was set. I need to loosen everything up, remove the hood and try again to get everything where it is happy......which isn't centered:( ?#$%@*

As far as the Stovebolt connection...I have a picture of one of John's Fords with a Stovebolt sticker on the rear bumper if that helps!

Robert, you need seating for a studio audience in your shop wink It would be great to stop by and watch you do that sometime.

Keep up the great work!

John

Is there a peanut gallery. One that provides drool cups.

I'd be there I promise, but I'm not ODSS area. I am curious about the top body hammer pictured with the under-turn head; is it used as a pull (action) dolly?

Thank you for posting the threads/links.

Brad, that's a door skin hammer, the angle of the head is to better access the flange for hammering it flat, especially on the bottom of the doors where the door rolls under.

Thanks for the info & I understand your description ; I think I'd need to see that hammer in action to "get it", however.

thumbs_up There it is; makes sense now.
I was having trouble visualizing the necessity, and trouble visualizing at what position the door (or panel) was in...

Edited- off-topic question to PM
Thanks again,
Brad

Thanks for the reminder to check that thread. I had missed and now caught up on all sorts of nifty and clever metal fabricating stuff.

Wouldn't mind hiring you to work on my truck cab if/when I get to that point, if you then have the time, and assuming I can afford it.

Thanks,
Grigg

Robert,
As always, the work you do is incredible.
Have you made any progress on your shop truck?

Bill, actually I sold that last fall. It was getting cramped in the shop with 55 parts all over, and I didn't think an addition to the building was going to go over well.. dang

Mike, worse yet we have a hood to rebuild. The original cab and doors (with wood framing) was rather rusty so a replacement (newer, all steel) cab was used. We found this a bit wider at the cowl so the original hood no longer fits. Still, much less time than what it would have taken to fix all the cab and door rust correctly.

Mounting flanges added to the fender:

I swung by Fenwick street last night on my way home and the place was deserted ... now I know why. Good job capturing him.

Looking good from here.

Thanks Chris. Fenders are installed, John's getting the truck loaded tomorrow for the Macungie PA show. Still have to make a new hood for it once the dust settles..
