The Stovebolt Site Forums The Side Lot Southern Bolters 216 Head & Intake/Exhaust Header

Hello Everyone,
Finished restoring a `50 Chevy P/U model 3100 and have a few great items, one of your members may be able to use.
(1) `50 CYLINDER HEAD for the 216 engine (fits all the 216 blocks from the early 40's thru`53)
* Casting Number is: GM 839401....4
* Another Casting number is CONV....12
* Another Casting number is F-2-8

(1) Complete Intake/Exhaust Asembly for the 216
* Intake Casting Number is 3835527
* Exhaust Casting Number is GM10; plus another exhaust casting number is 3835388

Both items are in very good shape. The Intake/Exhaust Assembly is ready to install (damper works good but I think it is a little tight and needs to be lubricated)and the Cylinder head should naturally have the valves ground or install new valves & valve guides prior to installation.

I am contacting your group as your members are closer (save on freight) to me in Aiken, SC such that a member can drive here to inspect and take home if either item is what they are looking for.

I am not sure what is a fair price and I am not sure how to attach pictures on this site so I will furnish my email address so I can send pictures to anyone who is interested.

Charlie, thank you for offering up these parts to us Southern bolters. Please put a price on your items and anyone interested can PM you are talk to you directly if there is any question about price.......this is also a requirement for posting in the regular Parts for Sale forum which I recommend you do. If someone needs them they will be willing to pay the shipping.

.....have a good friend just moved up this way from Aiken. Do you know Steve Bright? (and my father in law lived there for quite a while)

Chuck, check the parts for sale items similar to yours, or even check some on craiglist or ebay.

....prices very from freebies to expensive rare parts. I will be honest and say there is not a big demand for 216 parts as most folks want the "insert/bearing" engine as in 235's an up. However, there are still some folks that do try to keep the 216's running and may be interested in the parts.

Put a price you can live with on them and if folks think your to expensive they will counter offer or if not interest then you can drop the price.
Again, list your parts in the Parts for Sale forum and see what happens. If I move this to the Parts for sale forum Tiny, the moderator, will ask for prices or it will be deleted so be sure to put a price on them.
