I showed him what I came up with that uses the side mounting triangular bosses. I said... "the problem is, it only works with 58-62".
He says... "the side mount bosses came out in 1952 on passenger cars. In 1954, there was no truck vs car engines. For that year, cars and trucks use the same engine, so the cars and trucks of that year have triangular side mount bosses."
He had me walk over to a 54 with original engine to verify. Sure enough. Does this sound right? I am working on a bypass spin on solution using the Trans-Dapt 1028 with a 1/16" reducer in the line. Would be nice to verify who I could suggest this modification to. Any comments on the best place to put this reducer? IN or OUT? His was ingenious! One piece of metal and 6 holes. If you have Fenton dual exhaust manifolds on your rig, that plate is a necessity. Then for the normal setup with a Generator, you want to run the original one so as not to invade the Generators territory. People with Alternators get their choice. Beautiful, made in U.S. Will take a picture if interested.

I know nothing that big is in the oil, but, it sounded good!

Now, for those who do not have that triangular boss on the side of the engine for side motor mounts, I am always up for suggestions on where to put a bracket. What comes to mind is to drill two 3/8" holes on the bottom of the C-Channel (Frame) right across from where those triangular bosses are supposed to be. Install the Trans-Dapt 1028 with reducer, then plumb it with braided stainless steel oil line hose using AN to NPT fittings. By using this flexible oil line, it will not be affected enough to matter by the engine moving around a little.
