16 gallons in 1948 (and 1947) for all 3100/3600 trucks - all cabs.

It looks like 16 gals was the 1/2 ton (3100) panel-body tank size in all A-D years.

multiply the width x height x length and divide by 231= gal of gas it will hold

or lxwxhx .04329 = gal. IF my memory is still in tact.
