The driver side has a chrome T-handle for the door lock. When I ordered a new handle, it came with out the attaching screw and, I presume, a spacer (under the screw head). Are these available anywhere?

Bob, is your like my 37? If so the T handle will have a square hole to fit on the lock stem. The trick is to take your T handle to Ace Hardware and find one that is the right size for the stem and that will recess into the T-handle.

Those "T" handles come in two different size bases. The trick is to find the correct size one to fit the latch in your truck.

The handle seems to fit. It goes onto the square shaft OK, but bottoms on the interior door skin. But, If I screw it down tight, it will bind on the door skin. I don't know what was originally on the truck. additionally, I was hoping that there was a screw that would provide a finished look similar to that of the door handle.

So what your are saying is that the shaft for the "T" handle is too short. If it was longer, the handle would hit the end of the shaft before it hits the door. Are you working with the stock inside door skin - no upholstery? I would possibly fill the "T" handle with a little JB Weld, re-drill the screw hole and see if that would move it out form the interior door surface by hitting the JB Weld before the handle hits the door.

That is a good description of it. I might just have to try your idea. Thanks.
