Now that I have it out it does not looked tapered on the inside? The new style coversion tie rod ends will fit the way they are.

Nooo problem.
I have not tried to search it but sometime ago the actual taper was listed. Maybe it was the 7 or 10% listed in Griggs link above but it really ain't that much on such a short distance.
Sometimes the good thing is we do have a choice...sometimes!
