Anyone found suitable front tapered wheel bearings for a 1-ton (1949)?

Not availible. Used to be able to get Tapered for 52 and up spindles, but they aren't out there anymore either.

I did a bunch of research awhile back. The inner bearings aren't really a big deal to find tapereds, but GM used an oddball on the outer.

There's nothing really wrong with the OE style ball bearings. They actually roll easier and take misalignment better than tapers.

Thank you Whitedog, Can you mix tapered and OE style? If so do you have a part# for the inner. My inner bearing races are grooved pretty good.

Nope, can't mix n match bearings. It has to do with harmonics, pre-load, etc...

Here's what you need.

Some other vendors have them too. Get ready to open your wallet.
