My 1949 has a 235- 1955 engine in it. It has an oil filter on it. The gauge reads 0-30 pounds. When it cranks up it will hold around 15#. On the way back it was dropping and when I would let off the gas it would go back to 15#. Then it keep dropping, let off the gas-no good. By the time I got home I had 0(zero) pressure. I think I'm running 30 weight oil (not for sure but pretty sure) Could I possibly need a new oil pump. Or maybe something else? I thank you in advance and will try what ever you come up with. Thanks for listening. Oh, it makes no sound, like knocking or clattering when the pressure is on 0 (zero) When I check the oil it is always full. Thanks so much for any help you may have. Drop the oil pan and inspect the bearings, measure the crankshaft for size and roundness, and check the clearance with Plastigauge. In 50-something years of fixing cars, I've only seen two oil pump failures that resulted in low/no oil pressure, and both of them had a piece of debris in the relief valve.
