Just scored a 55 first series 3800 tow truck! Love this site and the wealth of knowledge here. Wish me luck on my resto.

Sixshooter, you join many others from Chicago land here on the bolt. You'll see them, or they'll find you. Hope they live close by!
Welcome to the Stovebolt. Sounds like an interesting project so be sure to start a thread in the DIY Forum so you can add to it as you go along and we an follow along with you. Ask questions in the Garage Forums and let us help you. With a 3800 Two Truck you will probably also be posting in the Big Bolt Forum.
Wishing you good luck.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Welcome, 6shooter. There's more tow truck operators here, I'm sure you'll find them or they find you. Check out the 'tons of fun' as well, it's just for one ton owners. There's something for everyone here. Good luck on the resto! Will it be a working truck?

Haven't decided what I'm going to do with the tow bed. I may just take it and sell it to someone who really wants it and run a flatbed
