I have tried everything anyone here has said to unstick my 54 engine to no avail. I took off the side panel at the valve lifters and wala...all the lifters were stuck. There is no oil nor sludge on or around them, (makes me think the engine was overhauled, never run, and got moisture into the lifters)......I tried with normal procedures to unstick at least one, but no good.....Does anyone know how to loosen and remove the lifters from the block? Vise grips and light blows horizontal?

Get some KROIL. I would probably take the whole engine apart if they are that bad.
