For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 60 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2011 Posts: 60 | I have tried everything anyone here has said to unstick my 54 engine to no avail. I took off the side panel at the valve lifters and wala...all the lifters were stuck. There is no oil nor sludge on or around them, (makes me think the engine was overhauled, never run, and got moisture into the lifters)......I tried with normal procedures to unstick at least one, but no good.....Does anyone know how to loosen and remove the lifters from the block? Vise grips and light blows horizontal? | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,971 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 1,971 | Get some KROIL.
