I will need 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern and 16's. I am thinking of 6" wide but not sure of back spacing. Any ideas on back spacing and/or width would be appreciated. thanks ralph

What kind of frontend are you running? Rear axle width? Those will come into play. You're good on the 6" width, 7" would be ok, too. The offset and the backspacing will vary depending on width and application.

Gonna run S10 4x4 rear axle which is 59" outside of drum to outside of drum. Gonna use billet spacers to widen front to the same 59". Del at Wheelmith suggested 3.5" back space/offset but he wanted me to double check. My cab and bed aren't mounted yet so I need help with dimensions. Will I be OK with a 6" wheel with 3.5" backspace/offset? thanks ralph

You didn't mention what front end you're using, how much narrower is it from the rear axle? You mention using spacers, that always concerns me, especially when they're used on the front. How much of a spacer are you going to use? You will want make sure the studs are long enough. Anything too much, you'll want the spacers that bolt on and have a second set of studs that the wheels bolt, as getting too long with the studs can cause stress to them. Also bear in mind, spacing the wheels out will alter the scrub radius as wheel as the wheel centerline on the bearings. You may experience some handling issues, nothing major, though, and you will want to pay attention to the wheel bearings for wear/play.

They will most definitely be the kind with their own studs. When I get wheels and tires on rear I will see if I need 1 1/2 or 2" to bring front out to match rear. This is my first AD project so I very much appreciate all the help I can get. I will order wheels tonight Thanks a lot ralph

It depends on the look you want though, a 6" wheel with 3.5" backspace seems tucked in, but then you're talking about using spacers. It might be well advised to wait until your sheetmetal is mounted. | | |
