Took delivery of a 1956 GMC 1/2 ton, bought sight unseen( with plenty of pics and video) from the original owner in Montana. The body has practically no rust....It had been parked in a barn since 1980...this is a project for my 16 y/o and myself......it has the original 270 ci engine that we fired up last weekend( after MARVELS in each cylinder, new plugs external fuel source,,ignition wires ,dist cap, rebuilt fuel pump, carb rebuild....125 psi in each cyl.she fired right up to a smooth idle.....lot's of high 5's in the driveway that day.... this truck is a survivor all original truck.....so I'm gonna need a lot of help...thanks in advance for your advice.......

Tim, welcome to the Stovebolt and congrats on your father/son project. Sounds like you really have got a good one to start with.
Lots of knowledge and folks willing to share. Just remember to ask questions in the most appropriate forums for the best answers and results. Good luck and see you around the garage.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

I made a trip to Carlisle and then "dipped" down to Stovebolt HQ to see if anyone was still there from the Homecoming. My son came with me and I was able to catch up with a few Bolters (most had left just an hour before I got there) but did learn a few things about navigating this site!
