Now stupid wants to put a brace to keep the rear of fender from vibrating but still doesn't want to drill holes in the fiberglass. What can stupid use to attach the fiberglass fender that will hold? any idea's? I will pass any solutions along to stupid so his fenders wont flap. I know him pretty good and he would really appreciate it. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,236 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 5,236 | The bus shop I used to work at had a body as well. They did quite a bit of fiberglass work, you know bus drivers! Anyway, they used this blue epoxy glue to repair the hoods, It seemed to hold pretty good. I wish I could remember what it was called. I know they got it at the local paint supply. I am going to do the same as you are, I don't want to drill holes. I was hopeing to get away with out the rear fender braces. My truck didn't have any on it and I'm getting tired of ordering parts. Thanks.

The fiberglass fenders and running boards came from R&R Fiberglass in Tennessee. if you wnat the phone # let me know. I can look it up and get it back to you. They seem to be just a tat bit lighter than some but they work well. I think I have the solution. My nephew works at the Freightliner Plant her in town and he says they have a gun that is something like a glue gun which they "squirt" a spot of it on a chassis and then place some type of "fastener with threads" and use it to attach stuff. He says its tough as old chevy's. If we can get our hands on it or he can borrow a gun I'm gonna put some on the inside of my fenders and a spot on the chassis. with the fasteners stuck there I can fabricate me a small brace. I don't think it will take much. Rat, I also like the weight of the fiberglass. My truck only weighs 2820 with a full tank of gas. The 350 will carry it for a ride..wild ride! | | |
