The blaster is 40 miles away and if it is not raining I'm bringing it home as soon as its done. Question, what do I use for primer to keep it from re rusting while I attempt to do the body work? This primer would have to be compatible with the rest of the following work such as bondo, blocking primer and the final color coat right? Thanks for the help guys. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 38 Apprentice | | Apprentice Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 38 | I use PPG DPLF, Epoxy Primer, when mixed with the calyst it will provide a good primer and sealer. It adhears well to the metal and Bondo Ultra has excellent adhesion propereties. I believe Bonda Ultral is the only bondo filler that states compatability. Either way I have had excellent results on my 39.

| | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 52 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 52 | Weeds, after I sand blast any metal parts I use Prep- step made by Zero-Rust. Prep-step is a powder that you mix 2 table spoons of into 1 gallon of water and using a sprayer of any kind you just spray the bare metal real good. You can leave the parts outside and they will not rust after this is done. Prep-step does not need to be cleaned off before painting, it helps in paint adhearing to metal and is also great in treating rusted metal before painting. By using this you would not have to be in a hurry to primer your metal. I hope this helps you a little.
