I've been registered for several years it seems, but I have not been active. Looking forward to becoming a bit more active on the forum. I have a 1946 two ton truck. It has been in the family since new, and is not technically restored, but almost everything mechanical has been either rebuilt or replaced in the 20 years that I have been taking care of her. I look forward to sharing my experiences with the truck, as well as all of the maintenance that goes into keeping a nearly 70 year old truck roadworthy. Believe it or not, she still is called upon for occasional tasks out here on the farm, and once in a while makes it to a parade.

Thanks for the confirmation. Its true that it doesn't look showroom perfect, but i would not hesitate to jump into it and make a cross country trip if the need was really there. Really the only thing that it really needs at the moment is a windshield and windshield frame. There was a tomcat in the 80's that had to mark the windshield every time it was in the barn, and no one at the time figured on his impact on the frame, and the cracked glass was a result of a brake failure at the cattle auction barn sometime in the '60s. Ran through a fence and a tree limb impacted the glass. The current body paint is about 20 years old. The paint on the sideboards came from the factory.

Looks outstanding! --- might consider going with a dual pot master cylinder just to avoid a repeat of the tree limb incident. Other than that, she is a real sweetheart!

I believe Grandpa became a believer in making sure the handbrake was kept in proper adjustment after that episode as well. His daughter was a passenger at the time and remembers shouting out the window telling the cows to get out of the way.
