Howdy All --- I just discovered a source for some critical body panel replacement parts and wanted to share it the folks here. VERY difficult to find anyone making new repair panels for anything as old as my rig. I hope this is OK with the Moddies as stuff like this is really hard to find or come by.

Chap named Ray Stanley is fabbing lower cowl repair panels that fit all 1942 to 1946 Chevy trucks. From 1/2 ton thru 2-ton. And just about every unit I have seen (mine included) has some level of corrosion issues in that area.

He also has patch & replacement panels for other old Chevy iron as well as doing custom work.

I just put an order in given that both sides of my cowl have totally gone to rot. This is a lifesaver for me and priced WAY below any body work estimates I have gotten locally.

His business is called Wheelwright Restorations...below are his email and website. I have no interest other than to help other folks in the same boat as I am.

Thanks Homer --- good to hear! I also heard from another guy who has used him before for some custom work and he said the same thing..."Nice guy, good work, priced right". We need more people like him around!

And...Made In America to boot!

has anyone used the 39-40 lower cowl panels? I made the last pair for my 40, but i could't get the short reveal to look right. I am doing my 39 right now and am looking at his panels.

Yes cshades, I have used Ray's lower cowl panel on my 40. It is a very good fit and the blip there at the rocker looks right.
